I first heard Sparks on KROQ in Los Angeles in 1976. I discovered Rodney
Bingenheimer on 10/31/76, because he had KISS on. I can''t remember if it
was that show, or one shortly after that, but Rodney used to play
Everybody''s Stupid. I fell in love immediately.

“Tips For Teens" – Sparks [Dug them. Russell Mael had a Hitler mustache and the songs were perfect in their silliness. I’m fairly certain Rodney Bingenheimer force fed us Sparks every Sunday night on KROQ. Speaking of Rodney, anyone out there remember the band “Milk and Cookies”?]

2004: The documentary is primarily focused on Rodney Bingenheimer, music fan/journalist/promoter/DJ, who''s lead quite an interesting life as a fan who''s obsessed with celebrities. He''s a very strange man, and you would never think that this person knows Elvis Presley, John Lennon, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, and so on. David Bowie, apparently, used to send Rodney demo cassettes!

There''s a few other interesting items in the documentary, and, I guess, Rodney, was pretty wild back in his early days before KROQ.

On the second commentary, with Chris Carter and Rodney Bingenheimer, they mentioned Morrissey:

Chris: Intermission. That''s it-- Back. Smiths. (The Smiths'' "London" is playing). We''re just in time for the comeback of Morrissey.
Rodney: Yeah. The new album is pretty good.
Chris: Is it?
Rodney: Yeah, it''s really good.
Chris: I know he play the whole month at the Wiltern.
Rodney: I went to see Morrissey with Nancy Sinatra
Chris: Oh, that''s right, he''s a big fan of hers, right? Did you know Steve MacDonald, the other MacDonald, in the Sparks now, is playing for the Morrissey-thing, in that thing that he picks all the bands?
Rodney: The Meltdown Festival. The New York Dolls are getting back together.
