Zdzislaw Beksinski (24 February 1929 21 February 2005) was a renowned Polish painter, photographer, and sculptor who is best known as a fantasy artist. Beksiсski executed his paintings and drawings either in what he called a ''Baroque'' or a ''Gothic'' manner. The first style is dominated by representation, with the best-known examples coming from his ''fantastic realism'' period when he painted disturbing images of a surrealistic, post-apocalyptic environment. The second style is more abstract, being dominated by form, and is typified by Beksiсski''s later paintings. Beksiсski was murdered in 2005.

Parasomnias are a category of sleep disorders that involve abnormal movements, behaviors, emotions, perceptions, and dreams that occur while falling asleep, sleeping, between sleep stages, or arousal from sleep. Most parasomnias are dissociated sleep states which are partial arousals during the transitions between wakefulness and NREM sleep, or wakefulness and REM sleep.

''Parasomnia'' is a very different kind of film for me, the filmmaker tells Fango. I cant really explain why, but when you see it, youll understand. In many ways, its a modern dark fairy tale. Everything in it is slightly skewed from realityin some cases, a lot more than slightly. Nearly all the characters are off in one way or another, which makes for a lot of fun.
Its a story of nightmarish vistas and dark dreams. Those familiar with my work will see recognizable elements, but I believe the audience is going to be in for a surprise and a wild ride. Its very creepy and dark. Not to mention that its got Jeffrey Combs and Patrick Kilpatrick in ithow great is that? I only hope that I can give moviegoers the same sense of wonder that the films I saw as a kid gave to me.
